Cherbourg is an Aboriginal Community in the South Burnett, 3 hours North of Brisbane in Queensland. It was established in 1904 in Wakka Wakka country on the banks of the Barambah Creek. It became home to members of 38 different tribes from all over Queensland who were moved there under the Aboriginal Protection Act which governed the peoples’ lives until the 1970’s.
